FAQs

What are the main differences between the online and hybrid training formats?

Both training formats complete the core 200H curriculum. However, the key difference in the hybrid teacher training format is the in-person attention and guidance you receive from the instructors, the community, plus you dive deeper into core yogic principles to further expand your experience and understanding.

Some of the key experiences include daily group sadhana (practice), in-person expert instruction, asana alignment, pranayama and meditation clinics, satsang and wisdom sessions within the community, expanded lesson planning guidance, advanced ayurvedic practices and the exploration of seva (service).

What are the current Covid-19 safety protocols for in-person training?

For all guests arriving on or after July 14, 2021, in alignment with the CDC travel guidelines, you will be required to show proof of a full Covid-19 vaccination OR a lab certified Covid-19 test that produced negative results within 72 hours of your arrival at the Center when you check-in. Upon successful completion of your Sri Sri School of Yoga Teacher Training, you will be a certified 200H Sri Sri School of Yoga Instructor.

Upon certification may I start teaching my own yoga classes?

Yes, certified graduates may start teaching their own yoga classes independently of the Sri Sri School of Yoga and the Art of Living Foundation once training requirements are complete.

Upon successful completion of the teacher training, graduates will receive a certificate indicating a total of 200 hours of training with the Sri Sri School of Yoga, with which you can then designate with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher of 200H.

What is the difference between the 200H Online Teacher Training Program in North America and the 200H Online Teacher Training Program in India?

The curriculums for the North America and India training are the same. The key difference with the North America training is that it is catered to teaching yoga to a western yoga population. The training includes additional sessions on expression, cueing, modifications and props and a module on the business of yoga in North America. You also benefit from a network of mentors, teacher training peers and alumni within North America for shared learnings and support. The live sessions are also scheduled to accommodate all four time zones in North America. If you plan on teaching in North America, we highly recommend that you attend the training offered in North America.

What is your make-up policy?

Participants can miss up to 8 hours of instruction of the live sessions within the online format. Up to four hours of the maximum 8 hours of missed sessions can be missed without requiring a make-up session. The student in training will still be accountable for what was covered in the missed sessions. The student can still request a make-up session per the pricing below.

Students who miss between 5-8 hours of live sessions within the online or in-person format will be required to make up the total hours of missed sessions in a rescheduled session determined by the school at some point during the teacher training program. They will be charged at the 5-6 hours of missed time rate or more per the table below.

The cost of make-up sessions is $100 per hour, prorated to the half-hour mark.

1 hour = 1-4 hours of missed time

1.5 hours = 5-6 hours of missed time

2 hours = 7-8 hours of missed time
