Medha Garud is the Director of Ayurveda Programs at the Art of Living Retreat Center in Boone, North Carolina, where she developed the massage therapy, Ayurveda, and Pachakarma programs for the Shakara Ayurveda Spa. Medha’s mission as a healer and practitioner is to to create a healthy society and world through the use of proper diet, lifestyle, and yoga using the 5,000 year-old science of Ayurveda, and to create awareness of Ayurveda in the general population through the development of simple and easy to understand programs.

Medha serves on the faculty of the Sri Sri School of Yoga teaching modules on Ayurveda, which the sister science to yoga. Medha finds providing an understanding of Ayurveda to yoga teachers to be essential, as it provides students with an understanding of how to experience optimal health in their physical, mental, and emotional selves.

Medha began her career as a physical therapist, and eventually became a meditation teacher through the Art of Living Foundation. Medha completed an advanced 300-hour Yoga as Therapy certification through the Yoga Alliance. As a yoga instructor and Ayurvedic practitioner, Medha combines her knowledge of the physical structure of the body with the ancient healing knowledge of Ayurveda. Medha holds a variety of advanced certifications and degrees, including training in Pulse Assessment by Dr. Vasant Lad, Panchakarma training, Massage Therapy. She is also a certified Lymphedema therapist.
