Why Practise with Us?

In the Patanjali Yoga Sutras, the path of yoga is described as having eight limbs — Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi. Among these, asana is just one part. The final limb, Samadhi, is a state of inner stillness and equanimity.

Asana and pranayama prepare both the body and mind to enter that meditative state — a state where the mind becomes free from duality and rests in harmony. When practised with awareness and breath, yoga postures become a doorway to silence, clarity, and joy.

Consistent practice of asanas has been known to support healing from back pain, blood pressure fluctuations, and other health concerns. But more deeply, when movement is synchronised with the breath, the quality of meditation naturally deepens.

The Sri Sri School of Yoga honours this holistic tradition — teaching yoga in its fullest expression, through all eight limbs.
